Privacy policy
Last updated: 22 October 2026
This policy explains what data 1ai.tools ("we") collects when you use 1ai.tools, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
Data we collect
- Account data. When you sign in with Google, we get your email address, name and profile picture. When you sign in with an email code, we get your email address. We store a hashed copy of each sign-in code for 10 minutes.
- Listings you submit. The website address, name, description, logo, category, pricing, tags and other details of the tool, the page where you put a link to us, and the date you accepted our guidelines.
- Reviews, comments and saved tools that you add while signed in. Reviews and comments are public and show your name.
- Newsletter. Your email address and how often you want the digest.
- Payments. Stripe processes card payments. We do not see or store your card number. We store the Stripe customer reference and what you paid for.
- Usage data. We count clicks on "Visit" links per tool (not per person). Our servers log technical data such as IP address and browser type for security and to limit abuse. If analytics is turned on, Google Analytics collects pages viewed and device data.
- Public business contacts. To invite new AI products to list, we may collect a public contact email that a company shows on its own website, or on Product Hunt or Hacker News.
How we use data
- To run your account and sign you in.
- To publish, review and keep your listings, including the daily check of your link to us.
- To take payments and keep records that the law requires.
- To send emails you need: sign-in codes, listing status, reminders, and the newsletter if you subscribed.
- To keep the site safe: stop spam, fraud and prohibited content.
- To post new listings on our social media accounts and in our newsletter.
- To send one-time invitations to listed or new AI products. Every such email has an opt-out link, and we never email an address again after it opts out.
Automated checks and AI
When you submit a tool, our systems read the public website and the text you write. We send this text to Anthropic (Claude) to write suggestions and to check the listing against our guidelines, and we send the website address to Google Safe Browsing and to public domain-registration (RDAP) services. These checks can stop a listing from being published. A person reviews every listing before it goes live, and you can contact us if you think a check was wrong.
Who we share data with
We do not sell personal data. We share data only with service providers that help us run the site:
- Vercel (hosting) and Turso (database).
- Google (sign-in, reCAPTCHA spam protection, Safe Browsing and, only with your consent, Analytics).
- Stripe (payments).
- Resend (email delivery).
- Anthropic (AI text and review of submitted listings).
We may also share data when the law requires it, or to protect our users and the site.
Cookies and local storage
When you first visit, a banner asks for your choice. You can change it any time with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page.
- Essential (always on): a sign-in cookie that keeps you signed in; a cookie that stores your cookie choice for 6 months; and Google reCAPTCHA, which loads only when you use a form (submit a tool, get a sign-in code, subscribe, or run the AI visibility checker) and checks that you are a person, not a bot.
- Analytics (only after "Accept all"): Google Analytics cookies that count page views. IP addresses are anonymized.
- Your browser keeps a draft of a listing in session storage until you publish it or close the tab.
How long we keep data
- Account data: while your account is open.
- Listings: while they are listed, and up to 12 months after removal for our records.
- Payment records: as long as tax and accounting law requires.
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
- Sign-in codes: 10 minutes.
Your rights
You can ask us to show, correct, export or delete your personal data, or to stop using it for a purpose. Email us from the address on your account. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK, California or India), you may have more rights under local law, including the right to complain to a data protection authority. You can unsubscribe from any email with the link in it.
Security
We use HTTPS, hashed sign-in codes and access controls. No system is perfectly secure; tell us at once if you find a problem.
Children
1ai.tools is not for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
International transfers
Our service providers may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States, with safeguards that the law requires.
Changes
If we change this policy, we update the date at the top. For big changes, we also email account holders. See also our Terms.
