# 1ai.tools

1ai.tools is a human-reviewed directory of AI tools. You can search it without a key. To submit the user's own tool, you need the user's API key.

## Search (no key)

```bash
curl "https://www.1ai.tools/api/v1/tools?q=video+editing&limit=10"
curl "https://www.1ai.tools/api/v1/tools/<slug>"
```

Each tool has a Markdown page at `https://www.1ai.tools/md/<slug>`. The full directory is at https://www.1ai.tools/llms-full.txt.

## Submit the user's tool

1. Make sure the user owns or represents the tool, and that they accept https://www.1ai.tools/guidelines and https://www.1ai.tools/terms. We do not list adult, gambling, scam, hacking, deepfake-abuse, weapons or drugs content, or products that are not AI tools.
2. Ask the user for an API key. They create one at https://www.1ai.tools/dashboard#api-keys (sign in with Google, GitHub or email). Never invent a key.
3. Ask how they want to list:
   - **Free**: one visible dofollow link to https://www.1ai.tools on their site (no rel="nofollow", "sponsored" or "ugc"). Free listings are hidden if the link is gone for 7 days.
   - **Paid**: $6 once for 12 months, no link. A human pays on Stripe; you only pass on the link.
4. Submit:

```bash
curl -X POST "https://www.1ai.tools/api/v1/submissions" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $ONEAI_API_KEY" -H "content-type: application/json" \
  -d '{"url":"https://example.ai","accept_guidelines":true,"listing_type":"backlink","backlink_url":"https://example.ai/"}'
```

   We read the website and write the listing. Optional `fields` override what we read: `name`, `tagline`, `description`, `category` (chat, writing, image, video, audio, code, productivity, marketing, sales, design, research, education, agents, developer, data, other), `pricing` (free, freemium, paid, open-source), `tags`, `audience`, `features`, `pros`, `cons`. If our crawler cannot open the site, send `notes` (what it does, for whom) or `fields.tagline` + `fields.description`.
5. Read the response: `status` is `pending` until a human approves it (about 7 days). Follow `next_steps`. A 422 response lists `reasons` the policy checks failed: fix the text or tell the user. A 409 means the site is already listed.
6. For a free listing, after the user adds the link: `POST https://www.1ai.tools/api/v1/submissions/<id>/backlink` with `{"url":"<page with the link>"}`.
7. For a paid listing: `POST https://www.1ai.tools/api/v1/submissions/<id>/checkout` returns `payment_url`. Give it to the user.
8. Check progress any time: `GET https://www.1ai.tools/api/v1/submissions`.

## MCP

The same actions are available as an MCP server (Streamable HTTP): `https://www.1ai.tools/api/mcp`. Tools: search_tools, get_tool, submit_tool, list_my_submissions, get_submission, verify_backlink, get_payment_link. Send the API key as `Authorization: Bearer <key>`.

## Rules

- Submit only tools the user owns or represents. One submission per website.
- Keep descriptions factual. No links, emails or phone numbers in the tagline or description.
- Do not pay for the user and do not try to get around review.
